Today is Etienne’s 11th birthday. My little boy is a tweenager and all the good stuff that comes with being one.  He had requested a cake with the theme of a current PC game craze called Plants vs Zombies. I’m not a video game fan, but I can see the appeal. Plants that have powers to defeat an onslaught of zombies before they invade your home. It’s all very technical and logical (as most games are). In designing the cake I had a lot of advise from both boys – from colour to size and the precise location of each character on the cake. We can’t be technically incorrect, can we? But, they knew they had to give in a little. Their mom hasn’t a clue and we did have to work within the limitations of my skill.

Happy Birthday Etienne. You’re a confident, smart and handsome young man. We’re proud of you.
